Company History

It All Started With An Airplane

Jim Parker settled in Warren, VT dreaming of a hangar he could fly planes to and run a business out of.
This is how the pursuit of clear blue skies turned into Clear Water.

Jim buys a shell of a hangar, slowly transforming it into a home for his planes and an office space for his business, Vacutherm. Upon drilling the well, he discovers water loaded with iron. Searching for a local solution, he comes up dry. He researches and installs a backwashing filter himself, and soon every house in the neighborhood wants him to do the same for them.

Clear Water Filtration is born. Jim acts as a salesman, service tech, and installer. In less than five years, demand is so high that he hires a dedicated sales and service technician and turns his focus to research.

A love affair begins. Jim’s research leads him to Kinetico, a brand he feels is the best in the business. He becomes an authorized independent Kinetico dealer and the proof is in the pudding! After only a few years, Clear Water is able to expand its service department and add a bookkeeper, 2 technicians, and a sales associate.

The Clear Water team begins cultivating relationships with other industry professionals, taking on more complex jobs and expanding into the commercial market.

After meeting with Pure Water for the World based out of Rutland, VT, Clear Water partners with Pure Water to share drinking water, sanitation and hygiene solutions with hundreds of thousands in need. Clear Water starts 2012 with the promise that $25 of every installation will go straight to Pure Water and their efforts.

By the end of 2012, Clear Water and its customers donate more than $4,000 to Pure Water. But the passion for clean water doesn’t stop there. Steve and Jen Parker book tickets to take part in Pure Water’s trip to Honduras in April 2013.

After 35 years of ownership, Steve Parker and Jen Fleckenstein (Brother and Sister) bought the business from their father, Jim Parker in December of 2015.

Now under new ownership, Steve and Jen, are focused on delivering the highest quality service and installation of water treatment products with our dedicated team of technicians and customer service professionals. We look forward to the next 35 years of business.

Clear Water purchases a new building! Located in the Mad River Industrial park and shared with other locally operated businesses like Cabot and Kingsbury Companies.
